Interested in an IRW summer internship? Submit a cover letter and other material between now and Feb. 24 through this online application. IRW interns work as researchers, reporters, data analysts and graphic designers. Preferred majors include journalism, communication, film, public policy, public health, history or economics. IRW publishes in-depth stories about government and corporate accountability on topics ranging widely from the environment and health to national security and the economy and often pairs students with experienced professional reporters and editors at other news organizations, including The Washington Post, Public Health Watch, and others.

The stipend for all positions is $20 an hour for 30 hours per week. Positions run from 8 to 10 weeks, with flexible start dates, depending on the end date of an individual student’s spring semester. All IRW internships typically end by early August. Housing and transportation are not provided.
