Hayden Godfrey is a post-graduate fellow at the Investigative Reporting Workshop, where he is a contributing researcher and reporter to The Washington Post’s investigative unit. He has also co-bylined major stories with The Post’s health and science and technology desks.
Godfrey, originally from Toronto, Ontario, is an alumnus of American University, where he earned a Master of Arts in Journalism & Public Affairs in 2023. Prior to IRW, he contributed arts and culture reportage to some of Canada’s largest newspapers, including The Toronto Star and The National Post, while studying communications at Toronto Metropolitan University.
When not working furiously on a story, Godfrey can be found listening to folk records from the 1970s, exploring museums in D.C., or watching his beloved Toronto Blue Jays.
