At the University of Montana’s student-run paper, the Montana Kaimin, Tallman’s role in the news section has taken him everywhere from construction updates to the Montana legislature. He’s reported on the failure of UM’s ADA infrastructure, Indigenous remains still in University possession and the potential ramifications of the waves of anti-queer bills that swept Montana in 2023. Before the Kaimin, Tallman got newsroom experience at the Montana Standard, reporting on crime, local news and the peculiar position that ospreys hold as ecosystem indicators.
