• Aug. 3: Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford, Connecticut, is hostinga Zoom webinar; it’s a ticketed event and you’ll get an email confirmation for the link to finish your registration. A recording of the program will be available to all registrants.
• Aug. 11: Bards Alley Bookshop in Vienna, Virginia, is hosting debut author Justine Barron for a conversation with journalists Lowery and Amelia McDonell-Parry about Barron’s nonfiction book, “They Killed Freddie Gray: The Anatomy of a Police Brutality Cover-Up,” which will be released on Aug. 15.
• Aug. 12: the East Hampton Library in East Hampton, New York, will present its 19th Annual Authors Night fundraiser, featuring authors across different genres. Lowery joins Lauren Graham, Maggie Haberman, A.M. Homes, Susan Isaacs, Jean Hanff Korelitz, Steve Madden, Andrew McCarthy, Annabel Monaghan and Chris Whipple, among others.
Tickets are $150 for the Authors Reception only, and begin at $400 for the dinners (includes entry to book-signing reception). Tickets may be purchased at the Authors Night website (www.authorsnight.org), at the Library (159 Main St., East Hampton, NY), and by phone at (631) 324-0222.
