Global conference to look at new models, covering corruption

More than 1,500 journalists from 130 countries are expected at the 11th Global Investigative Journalism Conference this week in Hamburg, Germany, this week.

Among the many topics the conference will cover are collaborations, new models for journalism, covering crime and corruption, security for journalists and data journalism.

IRW will be there with Executive Editor Chuck Lewis talking about collaborations and ethics. Data Editor Jennifer LaFleur will be presenting on multiple data journalism sessions.  

The Global Shining Light award will be presented Saturday night. (See the finalists list, if you want some inspiration.) Some events will be live streamed or you can follow the conference on twitter #gijc19.
