Workshop Executive Editor Charles Lewis wraps up his speaking tour in Australia Tuesday, when he will talk about Investigating Power at the University of Melbourne's Center for Advancing Journalism.
Earlier this month, Lewis spoke at the Byron Bay Writers' Festival, in Byron Bay, Australia, on the evolution of the investigative journalist, and also at the The Walkley Foundation Storyology Conference in Sydney, about maintaining journalistic excellence when working in a nonprofit newsroom.
He also spoke to 30 Sydney-based editors, news directors and executive producers at an annual meeting to discuss the entries in the national Walkley Awards competition. Journalists in Australia are about to begin covering the federal election campaign there. Lewis covered presidential campaigns for ABC News and is the author with Center for Public Integrity staff of "The Buying of the President" series of books.
He also wrote for the Walkleys Foundation's website about expanding the space for accountability journalism.
